President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan received on August 12 the German delegation lead by head of German Federal Intelligence Service August Hanning.
Head of the State expressed satisfaction with German delegation’s visit to our country which in his opinion is good opportunity to discuss multifaceted relations between the countries. The President noted the steady developing cooperation between Germany and Azerbaijan in various spheres and appreciated his visit to Germany in the last year.
President Ilham Aliyev has estimated the Sumgait power station’s construction as good sample of bilateral economic relationships. He also expressed satisfaction with participation at the foundation laying ceremony of the station on August 12.
Estimating as high the political relations between the countries, the President said that between special services of two countries are good collaboration in the field of the information exchange. Ilham Aliyev noted that at the present when the world and region have faced with jeopardy for peace and security, this collaboration is very important.
Mr. Hanning thanked the President for hospitality in Azerbaijan and said that while in Baku the second time he got familiarize with the country from those he had very good impression. He also conveyed to President Ilham Aliyev greenings from the Federal Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder. The German chancellor appreciated Your visit to Germany as important contribution in developing of bilateral relationships, said the guest.
Noting the importance of saving of peace and stability in the region, Mr. Hanning said Azerbaijan is best partner for Germany in the region.
President Ilham Aliyev in his part asked the guest to covey his greetings to the German Chancellor Schroeder.
