As a result of operatively search actions taken by the Ministry of National Security, persons smuggled narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan were detained, more than 14 kg of narcotics were seized from them

Ceremony was held at the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the Ministry of National Security on the occasion of 22^nd anniversary of the 20 January tragedy. 

Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan carried out operations and detained a group of persons accused of preparing of terror acts, illegally obtaining a great deal of firearms, ammunitions, explosives.

The Ministry of National Security prevented the damage to public property by a group of persons stealing valuable metal from Azerbaijan International Mining Company’s Gedebey gold-copper production plant. Members of the group were arrested as a result of operative measures conducted by the Ministry of National Security.

The persons swindling for the purpose of misappropriating money of some citizens by abusing their confidence and deceiving them were arrested as a result of operational search actions conducted by the Ministry of National Security and General Prosecutor’s Office.

The persons, who smuggled about 384 carat diamonds to Azerbaijan, were detained as a result of operational measures conducted by the Ministry of National Security.

On December 15, 2011, delegation led by Director of the Intelligence Service of Georgia Gela Bejuashvili paid an official visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Minister of National Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant-General Eldar Mahmudov.
