Khanbudagov Eyyub Shirin: October, 1920-February, 1921
Eyyub Khanbudagov was born in 1893 in the aristocratic family in Ganja city of Azerbiajan, where he received elementary education. After graduating from Baku Naval School, he served at a civil vessel. He was the chief of the Azerbaijani Extraordinary Commission from October 19, 1920 till February 19, 1921. In 1921, with recommendation of Nariman Narimanov, he was elected as the second secretary of the Central Committee of the Azerbaijani Communist Party. After his education at the Academy in Moscow, he was sent back to ZSFSR, where he held the positions of Deputy People’s Commissar of Light Industry and People’s Commissar of Domestic Trade till 1936. After abolition of ZSFSR in 1936, he held the post of First Deputy Presidium Chairman of Azerittifag until December 19 of the same year, when he was accused of nationalism and arrested by People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs (NKVD). Sentenced to 5 years imprisonment at the special meeting of NKVD on July 23, 1937, E. Khanbudagov then was sentenced to death by the Mobile Session of the Military Board of the Supreme Court of the USSR on October 12, 1937. E. Khanbudagov was rehabilitated by the verdict of the Supreme Court of the USSR of December 26, 1957.
