Azerbaijan`s Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov met the U. S. delegation led by Peter Rodman, Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, 12 February.

Minister Mahmudov highlighted the visitors on the ongoing processes, the realities and numerous kinds of threats accrued in region. Expressing concern with increase of different kinds of threats of international terrorism and organized transnational crimes, the Minister informed on the adequate measures taken by the Ministry in this direction. At his words, only joint international efforts can prevent these threats. The Minister expressed gratitude to the partner states for rendered assistance to Azerbaijan in the framework of anti-terror coalition, stressing necessity of further cooperation in this field.  

Mr. Peter Rodman thanked for detailed information and gave high assessment to the efforts of Azerbaijan in combat against terrorism. The United States support territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and is keen in full establishment of its sovereignty, the guest underlined. In meeting, also attended by the USA ambassador to Azerbaijan Ms. Anne Derse, exchanged were a number of other issues of mutual interest.
