Delegation of the Azerbaijan Republic headed by the minister of national security, major-general Eldar Mahmudov on the invitation of the Chairman of the Monaco World Summit Mr. Jean- Paul Carteron, has attended the 6th International summit in Monaco on fighting organized crime.

Main topic of discussions at the Summit with the participation of representatives of some 60 world countries and many authoritative international organizations was connected to the questions of improvement and development of cooperation in the view of new realities in the field of combating transnational criminality, in particular, international terrorism, taking large scale day by day, as well as trade in person, illegal circulation of narcotics, money laundering and other forms of organized crimes.

Minister Eldar Mahmudov in his remarks at the enlarged sitting of Summit, dedicated to international terrorism, spoke of threat and sequences of the Armenian armed separatism and terrorism, the problems, connected to uncontrolled territories, the work done in Azerbaijan at state level in the field of combating terrorism, activity of the security bodies of the Republic, underlining necessity of expedient activation of international cooperation in this direction.

Minister Eldar Mahmudov has held a number of bilateral meetings, as well as discussions related to further cooperation.
