President Ilham Aliyev received top-ranking representatives of foreign countries` special services visited Baku on the occasion of 90th anniversary of the national security agencies of Azerbaijan

On 03 April 2009, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the top-ranking representatives of the special services of foreign countries, who arrived in Baku to participate in the ceremony dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s national security bodies.

Speaking of the role of special services in all-round progress of independent Azerbaijan, the head of state stressed the exclusive merits of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in their formation and development. President Aliyev underlined that ensuring stability and security and fighting criminality play an important role in development of any country. He noted that all necessary measures will be undertaken to provide peaceful life of the Azerbaijani people in the years ahead.

On importance of the international cooperation, exchange of information with friendly countries and realization of the joint measures in fighting transnational criminality, President of Azerbaijan emphasized that the terrorist acts taking place in various hot points of the world confirm that none of the counties is able to alone provide its security, and it is necessary to joint efforts of all states. Azerbaijan makes its contribution to ensuring international security, President Ilham Aliyev said, praising activity of the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan.

Head of Russian Federal Security Service, General of the Army Alexander Bortnikov and Director General of the Military Intelligence and Security Service of Italy, Vice-admiral Bruno Branciforte also stressed the importance of cooperation in combat against international terrorism and organized criminality.
